One of the major decisions you need to make before deciding on which work at home job or home based business to start is how much time you have available to commit to your new work at home career. Whether you want to work at home full time or part time, deciding this will help to get you started in the right direction. Though there are a few work at home positions that do not have specific time requirements, however most work at home jobs and home based businesses will require a set amount of time that you must commit to. How do you decide whether working full time or part time from home is right for you? First, you need to determine how much money you need or want to earn. Second, you must determine how much of your time is available to commit to a work at home job. Third, you must decide what is best for your particular situation.
Your first step in determining if you should work at home full time or part time is determining how much money you need or want to earn. Take some time and write down how much you want to earn per week. Next, write down how much you think you are worth per hour. Now, divide the amount you need by the amount you think you are worth and you will come up with an estimate on how many hours you need to work in order to receive that amount. Keep in mind that this is a very rough estimate, but it gives you an idea of what you are working with. For example, if you need $280 per week and you believe your time is worth $7 per hour. You divide the $280 you need by $7 per hour and you come up with 40 hours worth of needed work. Obviously you will need to find a full time work at home job. Where as, if you only needed $100, you would divide $100 by $7 and would come up with a little over 14 hours. Meaning you only need to work part time from home. Keep in mind that this can easily change depending on the amount of money you need and by the amount you end up making. Don't forget to add in a little extra for taxes.
Your second step is to determine how much time you have available to work at home. If you are single and unemployed you could easily work a full time job, where as, a mother of 3 who already has a job outside the home most likely would not be able to pick up a full time job from home. To figure out how much time you have available to work from home, write down your current time commitments. Don't forget to add in the time you spend on necessities such as sleeping. After you figure out how many hours you need to fulfill your weekly commitments subtract 168 hours (number of hours in a week). This will give you an estimate of how many hours you have available to work from home. So, if you have 145 hours of committed time, take 168 hours and subtract 145 which leaves you with 23 hours of available time to work a job from home. By doing this simple equation you should have a better knowledge of your available time for a work at home job.
Your third and final step is deciding what is best for your particular situation. After figuring out how much money you need and how much time you have to commit to working from home, you can pretty well determine whether you should work at home full time or part time. After all is said and done it is ultimately your decision on whether you choose to work from home full time or part time.
